COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Eduardo Medina-Mora was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the United Mexican States to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs de Medina-Mora was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Miguel Solano-Lopez was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Paraguay to the Court of St James’s.

Sir Peter Ricketts (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Lord Hope of Craighead was received by The Queen when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening in advance of the forthcoming State Visit of The President of the Republic of South Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, this morning received General Sir Peter Wall upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Major General Christopher Deverell upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Elder Brother and Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, later received Rear Admiral Sir Jeremy de Halpert (Deputy Master) and Captain Sir Malcolm Edge (Elder Brother).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning opened St John’s School and Community College, Granham Hill, Marlborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mr John Bush).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Coronation Hall, East Grafton, Wiltshire.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this afternoon visited Hethel Engineering Centre, Chapman Way, Hethel, near Norwich, Norfolk.

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, afterwards visited Lotus Racing, Racing Technology Norfolk, Ironside Way, Hingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk (Mr Richard Jewson).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Transaid, this morning opened Freight Transport Association’s new premises at Hermes House, 2 Manor Road, Horsforth, and was received by Mr John Brennan (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Butler Trust, this afternoon visited Westgate Hostel, 188-196 Westgate, Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, afterwards visited Her Majesty’s Prison Wakefield, Love Lane, Wakefield.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, this evening attended a Centenary Honours Ceremony and Dinner at Edinburgh Zoo and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
