Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Edward Turay was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Sierra Leone in London.

Mrs Turay was also received by Her Majesty.

Her Excellency Mrs Evelyne Genta was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Principality of Monaco to the Court of St James’s.

Mr Gerald Genta was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Peter Ricketts (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Mr Donald Paterson was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty presented him with The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.

The Poet Laureate (Professor Carol Ann Duffy) was present.

The Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, President, Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, this evening visited the exhibition, Victoria and Albert: Art and Love at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning chaired a National Heritage Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the English College Foundation in Prague, accompanied by Her Royal Highness, later visited the College.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon arrived at Royal Air Force Lyneham from the Czech Republic.

Mr Clive Alderton, Mrs Amanda MacManus, Mr Patrick Harverson and Major William Mackinlay were in attendance.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning departed Farnborough Airport for China.

Mrs Amanda Thirsk is in attendance.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Canada.

Brigadier John Smedley was in attendance.

The Countess of Wessex, Royal Colonel, 5th Battalion The Rifles, this morning departed Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, for Germany.

Her Royal Highness today visited the Regiment at Alanbrooke Barracks, Paderborn.

The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Regimental Dinner at Alanbrooke Barracks.

Mrs Philippa Southgate-Sands is in attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal today and this evening attended the Emerging Pacific Leaders’ Dialogue Closing and Report Back Sessions at Fa’onelua Conference Centre, Vuna Road, Nuku’alofa, Tonga, and was received by The Princess Royal of the Kingdom of Tonga.

Her Royal Highness later departed Tonga for the United Kingdom.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Somme Association, this morning unveiled a Memorial to the 10th (Irish) Division at Green Hill Cemetery, Canakkale, Turkey.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Meeting with The President of Ireland and Dr Martin McAleese at the Sheraton Hotel, Ankara.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards attended a Dinner at Çankaya Kosku, Ankara, given by The President of the Republic of Turkey for The President of Ireland.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President of the Board of Trustees, Imperial War Museum, this morning visited HMS Belfast, Morgan’s Lane, Tooley Street, London SE1.
