Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr. Alain Economides was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Italian Republic to the Court of St. James’s.

Mrs. Economides was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr. Simon Martin (Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Foreign and Commonwealth Office) was present.

The Archbishop of Canterbury was received in audience by The Queen.

The Hon. Graydon Nicholas was received in audience by Her Majesty upon his appointment as Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick.

Mrs. Nicholas was also received by The Queen.

The Lord Mandelson had an audience of Her Majesty and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and Lord President of the Council.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Irish Guards and the Royal Air Force Squadronaires played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron and Twelfth Man, this evening attended the Lord’s Taverners’ Diamond Jubilee Dinner at St. James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, Royal Governor, was represented by Sir Brian McGrath at the Memorial Service for Mr. Trevor Turner (Brother) which was held at Sutton’s Hospital in Charterhouse, Charterhouse Square, London EC1, this afternoon.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this morning held a Meeting for The Prince’s Council at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, this afternoon gave a Reception at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning held a Meeting for the Australian Award at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, London Gardens Society, later viewed winning gardens in the London Borough of Lambeth and was received by Mr. David Dangoor (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Richard House Children’s Hospice, Richard House Drive, London E16, and was received by Colonel Michael Dudding (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Providence Row Dellow Centre, 82 Wentworth Street, London E1, and was received by Commander John Ludgate, RNR (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this evening attended the Meningitis Trust Art and Childhood Memories Photography Exhibition at the Fairfax Gallery, 5 Park Walk, Chelsea, London SW10.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning visited Pfaudler Balfour Limited, Riverside, Leven, to commemorate its Bicentenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mrs. Brian Dean).

Her Royal Highness later opened the restored Harbour Light Tower at Town Pier, North Queensferry, and was received by Sheriff Principal John McInnes (Deputy Lieutenant of Fife).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon arrived at Incheon International Airport, South Korea, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (His Excellency Mr. Martin Uden).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception for British Korean War Veterans given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador at the Residence.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, this afternoon officially opened the Home Economics facility at Fleming Fulton School, Malone Road, Belfast, and was received by Sir Nigel Hamilton (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Army Families Federation, later visited Military accommodation and officially opened the Children’s Play Area at No. 10 Duncan’s Road, Lisburn, County Antrim.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Army Dental Corps, afterwards visited the new Military dental facility at Headquarters, Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn.

Her Royal Highness, Chief Patron, subsequently attended a Meeting with representatives from Hope for Youth (NI) (Women Caring Trust) at Hillsborough Castle, County Down.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, St. Mungo Community Housing Association Limited, this evening attended a Garden Party at St. Catherine’s Chapel Garden, Westminster Abbey, London SW1.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Royal Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Barbers, this afternoon attended a Reception at Barber-Surgeons’ Hall, Monkwell Square, Wood Street, London EC2.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, this evening attended the preview of Masterpiece London (formerly Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair) at the former Chelsea Barracks, Chelsea Bridge Road, London SW1.
