COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Major Thomas Wills was received by The Queen today and delivered up his Stick of Office as Lieutenant of The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard.

The following officers of The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were received by Her Majesty: Lieutenant Colonel John Moss who delivered up his Stick of Office as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Lieutenant, Brigadier David Innes who delivered up his Stick of Office as Ensign and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant, Colonel Michael Kingscote who delivered up his Stick of Office as Exon and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Ensign, and Major Christopher Cox who received his Stick of Office as Exon.

The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, received the Lord Shuttleworth (Chairman of the Duchy of Lancaster) and Mr Paul Clarke (Chief Executive).

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Ms Jane Owen (the Kingdom of Norway), Mr Michael Davenport (Republic of Serbia) and Mr Matthew Gould (the State of Israel).

Mr David Donnelly, Mrs Davenport and Mrs Gould were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Bharat Joshi was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cameroon.

Mrs Joshi was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen, Patron, and The Duke of Edinburgh, Fellow, were present this afternoon at the Royal Society’s Three Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Convocation which took place at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the President of the Royal Society (the Lord Rees of Ludlow) and Sir Peter Williams (Treasurer).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness witnessed the admission of Prince William of Wales as a Royal Fellow of the Society.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards toured the Summer Science Exhibition and met scientists and Fellows.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning received Sir Thomas Farmer upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of the Trustees and the Lord Kirkham upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Admiral and Member of the Royal Yacht Squadron, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Boodle’s, St James’s Street, London SW1.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Pengiran Dato Maidin Hashim at 19-20 Belgrave Square, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam in London.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, this morning received Mr Ian Curtis (Chairman) and Miss Rosaleen Kerslake (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness this afternoon addressed the global summit of the Consumer Goods Forum at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Broad Sanctuary, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales later received Mr Michael Duke (President and Chief Executive Officer, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.).

His Royal Highness this evening gave a Dinner at Clarence House for the Consumer Goods Forum.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon took the salute at the Homecoming Parade for the return of 11 Light Brigade from Afghanistan, Broadway, Winchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Her Royal Highness afterwards attended a Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance at Winchester Cathedral.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, le Dispensaire Francais, this evening attended a Reception given by His Excellency The French Ambassador, at the Ambassador’s Residence, London.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning received Professor Sir Richard Feachem (Professor of Global Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley).

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, afterwards held a Trustees’ Meeting.

The Duke of York, Patron, Jubilee Sailing Trust, this afternoon received Mr Alexander Lochrane (Chief Executive) and Mr Bruce Mauleverer (Chairman of the Trustees).

His Royal Highness, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, afterwards received Mr Patrick Crawford (Chief Executive of Exports Credits Guarantee Department).

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this evening held a Reception for those attending the Pacific Health Summit.

The Princess Royal, Fellow, this afternoon attended the Three Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Convocation of the Royal Society at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1.

Her Royal Highness, President, Victim Support, this evening attended a Reception at the Bank of England, Threadneedle Street, London EC2.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester today carried out the following engagements in South Korea.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Tesco Homeplus Green Store in Bucheon.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards called upon the Speaker of the National Assembly (Mr Park Hee-tae).

His Royal Highness later officially opened the “UK-South Korea: 60 Years of Military Partnership” photographic exhibition at the National Assembly.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon toured the Park One construction site in Seoul.

His Royal Highness later called upon Mr Chun Un-chan (Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea).

The Duke of Gloucester this evening attended a Banquet for Korean War Veterans at the Lotte Hotel, 40-1 Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Fellow, this afternoon attended the Three Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Convocation of the Royal Society at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, President, today held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Sixtieth Anniversary of Sightsavers.

Her Royal Highness this evening visited the new Galleries of Modern London and attended a Reception at the Museum of London, 150 London Wall, London EC2.
