Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir Timothy Colman KG at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Marquess Townshend of Raynham which was held in Norwich Cathedral today.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Major Nicholas Barne.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Mrs Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar at 3 Stratford Place, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania in London.

The Prince of Wales this morning visited the Ford Engine Plant to mark its Thirtieth Anniversary, Cowbridge Road, Waterton Industrial Estate, Bridgend, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan (Mrs Kathrin Thomas).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation, today viewed the development progress at Coed Darcy Urban Village, Llandarcy, Neath, followed by a Reception, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan (Mr Byron Lewis).

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited Corgi Hosiery, New Road, Ammanford.

His Royal Highness this evening gave a Dinner for His Royal Highness’s Charities in Wales.

St. James’s Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport, New York, United States of America, and was received by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for New York (Sir Alan Collins).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited West Point Military Academy.

Prince Henry of Wales this evening attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for New York and HMS Intrepid on board HMS Intrepid.

His Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards attended a Reception for Sentebale at the St Regis New York Hotel.

Mr James Lowther-Pinkerton and Miss Eva Omaghomi are in attendance.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning visited Norwich Research Park, Norwich, and was received by Professor Tim O’Riordan (Deputy Lieutenant of Norfolk).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Hunstanton Golf Club, and Patron, Royal Air Force Golf Society, this afternoon attended a Luncheon for the Royal Air Force Golf Society at Hunstanton Golf Club, Golf Course Road, Old Hunstanton, and was received by Mrs P. Seligman (Deputy Lieutenant of Norfolk).

The Duke of York afterwards visited St Helens Hospital, Marshalls Cross Road, St Helens, and was received by Mrs Jennifer Grundy (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this morning visited Mencap’s Football Team and launched the academic research findings produced in partnership with Bangor University, Holyhead Road, Bangor, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd (His Honour Judge Huw Morgan Daniel).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Parys Mountain Copper Mines, Amlwch, North East Anglesey.

The Countess of Wessex, President, Girlguiding UK, later visited Guides and Brownies celebrating their Centenary at Royal Air Force Valley, Holyhead, Anglesey.

The Princess Royal, President, the Mission to Seafarers, this morning attended a Meeting on board Queen Mary 2 at Eastern Docks, Southampton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning attended a Commemoration Ceremony to mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of the start of the Korean War given by The President of the Republic of Korea at the Olympic Gymnasium, Olympic Park, Seoul, South Korea.

His Royal Highness today attended a Luncheon given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (His Excellency Mr Martin Uden) at the Residence.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Civil Service Sports Council, this morning attended the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of the Celtic Games at Heriot-Watt University, Riccarton, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor George Grubb, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this evening attended a Reception at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Church Road, Wimbledon, London SW19.
