Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception for winners of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this afternoon visited Thames Sailing Club to mark its One Hundred and Fortieth Anniversary, Portsmouth Road, Surbiton, Surrey.

By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Omer Siddig at 3 Cleveland Row, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of the Sudan to the Court of St. James’s.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed Royal Air Force Lyneham for France and were received later upon arrival at Lesquin Airport, Lille, by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency Sir Peter Westmacott).

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended the re-interment of the last of the Two Hundred and Fifty First World War soldiers recovered from communal graves in France and subsequently attended a Service of Dedication of the new Pheasant Wood Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at Fromelles, and His Royal Highness laid a wreath.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards attended a Reception at l’Ecole des Cobbers, Fromelles.

Their Royal Highnesses later visited Neuve-Chapelle Memorial, Neuve-Chapelle, and The Prince of Wales laid a wreath.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon arrived at Royal Air Force Northolt from France.

Mr. Clive Alderton, Mrs. Sophie Densham, Miss Eva Omaghomi and Major William Mackinlay were in attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today attended Receptions at St. James’s Palace for Young People who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Waddington, this afternoon received Group Captain Richard Powell upon relinquishing his appointment as Station Commander and Group Captain Christopher Jones upon assuming the appointment.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal today visited Cumbria and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (Mr. James Cropper).

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, today visited a Book Shop at 5 Cornmarket, Penrith.

The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children UK, this afternoon visited a Shop at 21 Middlegate, Penrith.

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, later visited a Shop at 4 Lowther Went, Cockermouth.

The Princess Royal subsequently visited the areas of Cockermouth affected by the 2009 floods.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning attended the Tenth World Association of Beet and Cane Growers Conference given by the National Farmers’ Union at West Road Concert Hall, 11 West Road, Cambridge, and was received by Mr. Anthony Pemberton (Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, today attended the launch of “Battle Back Disability Tennis” at Royal Air Force Halton Tennis Club, Chestnut End, Halton, and was received by Mrs. Jennifer Hopkirk (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this morning named a Eurostar train “Remembering Fromelles” at St. Pancras International Station, Euston Road, London NW1.

His Royal Highness subsequently departed St. Pancras International Station for France.

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, today attended the dedication of Pheasant Wood Cemetery at Fromelles.

His Royal Highness later arrived at St. Pancras International Station, London, from France.

Mr. Nicolas Adamson was in attendance.
