Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Life Guards and the Adjutant General’s Corps played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Royal Air Force Museum, this morning received Dr Michael Fopp upon relinquishing his appointment as Director General and Air Vice Marshal Peter Dye upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, received Mr Rex Morgan.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Yury Fedotov at 13 Kensington Palace Gardens, London W8, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Russian Federation to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince of Wales this morning received the Rt Hon Mrs Caroline Spelman MP (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

The Prince of Wales, Honorary Trustee, the Royal Agricultural Society of England, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning attended a Conference and Reception at St James’s Palace to mark His Royal Highness receiving the National Agriculture Award and to mark the launch of The Prince’s Countryside Fund, of which The Prince of Wales is Patron.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received the Rt. Hon. Andrew Langsley MP (Secretary of State for Health) and Mrs Anne Milton MP (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Public Health).

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, Army Air Corps, later presented medals in Bury St Edmunds town centre to soldiers of 3 Regiment who have recently returned from Afghanistan and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception for Service personnel and their families in the Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds.

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, this morning received the Lord Marland (Under-Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change).

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this evening departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada.

Brigadier John Smedley is in attendance.

The Countess of Wessex this morning officially opened Churchill Park Special School, Winston Churchill Drive, Fairstead, King’s Lynn, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk (Mr Richard Jewson).

Her Royal Highness today visited Break Charity Respite Home for young people, Morley House, Goodwins Road, King’s Lynn.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited Norfolk Sports and Cultural Foundation, Lynnsport Leisure Park, Greenpark Avenue, King’s Lynn.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Director, London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, today attended a Board Meeting at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London E14.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Anglian Regiment, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Vincent upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Richard Lyne upon assuming the appointment.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, this morning attended a Service for the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.
