COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were present at a Service in Westminster Abbey this morning on the occasion of the Inauguration of the Ninth General Synod of the Church of England.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received by the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey and by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Archbishop of York.

At the conclusion of the Service, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh proceeded to Church House for the Inauguration Ceremony of the Ninth General Synod of the Church of England.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were welcomed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Queen then read the formal Declaration of Inauguration and was graciously pleased to address the Synod.

The Archbishop of York replied.

The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended the launch of the King James Bible Trust at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, London, SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales today visited Bradford and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr. Ingrid Roscoe).

His Royal Highness, Patron, this morning visited the Campaign for Wool Festival, Bradford City Hall, Centenary Square.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, afterwards visited Belle Vue Girls’ School, Thorn Lane, Bingley Road, and met members of the Mosaic Bradford Local Delivery Group.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, this afternoon visited Haworth Scouring Company, Cashmere Works, Birksland Street.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, afterwards visited Bulmer and Lumb, Buttershaw.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, later visited the British Wool Marketing Board, Wool House, Roydsdale Way, Euroway Trading Estate.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the Desert Rats 7th Armoured Division Thetford Forest Memorial Association, this morning attended the Annual Reunion, Orwell Park School, Nacton, Ipswich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).

Her Royal Highness, President, the National Osteoporosis Society, this afternoon visited the Rheumatology Clinic, Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, Heath Road, Ipswich.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning attended a Meeting at the Lanesborough Hotel, Hyde Park Corner, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex this evening gave a Dinner.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the British Nutrition Foundation, this morning attended the Annual Day and Prizegiving at Royal College of Physicians, 11 St. Andrews Place, Regent’s Park, London NW1.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, the Wise Campaign, this afternoon attended an Awards Ceremony at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, 2 Savoy Place, London, WC2.

The Princess Royal, Commodore in Chief Portsmouth, accompanied by Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, this evening attended a Navy Board Dinner onboard HMS Victory, HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, today attended the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour Finals at the Arena, North Greenwich, London SE10.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited 22 Special Air Service Regiment, Stirling Lines, Hereford.

His Royal Highness was represented by Sir Timothy Colman at the Memorial Service for Sir James Cleminson which was held in Norwich Cathedral this afternoon.
