Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr Paul Clarke (Clerk of the Council, Duchy of Lancaster).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, this afternoon presented Operational Service Medals to the 1st Battalion who have recently returned from Afghanistan, Sir John Moore Barracks, Shorncliffe, Folkestone, Kent.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, this morning received Mr Martin Narey upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive of Barnardo’s and Mrs Ann-Marie Carrie upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness afterwards received Major General James Short (Colonel of the Regiment) and Colonel Richard Charrington (formerly Commanding Officer) 9/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, today attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

His Royal Highness attended Meetings with the following: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand; the Chairman of BP; the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia; the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of the Republic of Iraq; the Chief Executive, Investment Bank, JPMorgan Chase and the Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.

His Royal Highness attended Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders Seminars on “Toward a New Global Growth Model” and “Global Health Co-operation”.

The Duke of York this evening gave a Business Dinner.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, President, Royal Academy of Music, this evening attended a Charity Concert given by Elton John and Ray Cooper in aid of the Royal Academy of Music Organ Appeal, followed by a Dinner, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London W1.
