Buckingham Palace

The President of the Republic of Namibia visited The Queen today.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Francis Baker (the State of Kuwait) and Ms Catherine Nettleton (the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela).

Mrs Maria Fernandez was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Nicholas Leake was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Mauritius.

Miss Oana Bucsa was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Nigel Haywood was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Governor of the Falkland Islands.

Mrs Haywood was also received by Her Majesty.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, University of Cambridge, this morning visited the Faculty of Music, 11 West Road, Cambridge.

His Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of Cambridge, afterwards visited the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, University of Cambridge, later presented Honorary Degrees and attended a Garden Party at the Senate-House, Trinity Lane, Cambridge.

The Prince of Wales this morning attended The Prince’s Charities in Wales Race Day at Ffos Las Racecourse, Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed (the Hon Robin Lewis).

The Duke of York this morning visited Sahaviriya Steel Industries UK, Redcar, Cleveland, was received by Major Peter Scrope (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire) and remained to Lunch with local business leaders.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited CompactGTL plc, the Wilton Centre, Redcar.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, today undertook the following engagements in New York, United States of America.

His Royal Highness this morning attended Meetings at Kaye Scholer, 425 Park Avenue.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards attended The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Business Advisory Group (United States) Board Meeting at Kaye Scholer.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Lunch with the American Award Trustees at Red Eye Grill, 890 7th Avenue.

The Earl of Wessex later attended a Meeting with the 100 Women in Hedge Funds organisation at the Plaza Hotel, 5th Avenue at Central Park South.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Gala Dinner at the Pierre Hotel, 2 East 61st Street.

The Princess Royal this morning opened an Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys Centre in Ballymartin Road, Templepatrick, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim (Mrs Joan Christie).

Her Royal Highness later visited a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Module mobile laboratory and workshop at Antrim Board Centre, 17 Lough Road, Antrim.

The Princess Royal, President, the Mission to Seafarers Limited, this afternoon attended a Reception at Belfast Harbour House, Corporation Square, Belfast, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Special Forces Club, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Reception at Dartmouth House, 37 Charles Street, London W1.

The Princess Royal, President, RedR UK, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, afterwards held a Supporters’ Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, this afternoon attended a Reception at University College London, Gower Street, London WC1, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, this morning visited Chailey Heritage School, Haywards Heath Road, North Chailey, East Sussex.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Safety in Action Project at Herstmonceaux Castle, Hailsham, to mark the Twentieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr Peter Field).

The Duchess of Gloucester afterwards visited the East Sussex Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted, West End, Herstmonceaux, to mark its Twentieth Anniversary.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, today attended the Wimbledon Championships at Church Road, London SW19.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Honorary Patron, American Associates of the Royal Academy Trust, this morning attended a Board Meeting at the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1.
