Buckingham Palace
Air Vice-Marshal Sir David Walker was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
The Queen held a Council at 5.30 p.m..
There were present: the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Vincent Cable MP (Secretary of State, Department for Business Innovation and Skills), the Rt. Hon. Philip Hammond MP (Secretary of State, Department for Transport) and the Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP (Secretary of State, Department for International Development).
The Hon. Nicholas Soames MP, Mr. Desmond Swayne MP and Sir Peter Tapsell MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr. Thomas Brake MP made affirmation as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Miss Judith Simpson was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, this morning received Mr. Gregory Belton (Chairman of the International Trustees).
His Royal Highness, Patron, today attended Receptions at St. James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award World Fellowship, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Restorative Justice Council, this afternoon attended the Restorative Justice European Forum at Canterbury Christ Church University, North Holmes Road, Canterbury, and was received by the Viscount De L’Isle (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Kent).
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this afternoon received Sir Alistair Irwin upon assuming his appointment as Chairman.
His Royal Highness, President, Cavalry and Guards Club, this evening attended a Dinner for St. Dunstan’s at 127 Piccadilly, London W1.
