COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening for members of the Media to mark next year’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke of Gloucester and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon received Major General Buster Howes upon relinquishing his appointment as Commandant General and Brigadier Edward Davis upon assuming the appointment.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wright upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 1st Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Edward Sandry upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, received Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Harrison upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 2nd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Adam Dawson upon assuming the appointment.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, Army Air Corps, received Lieutenant Colonel Paul Tennant upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 3 Regiment and Lieutenant Colonel Thomas de la Rue upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness afterwards held a Charity Next and Whitehall and Industry Group Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received the judges of the Sun Military Awards.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Royal Film Performance of “Hugo” in aid of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund at the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London WC2.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex this morning opened the Diageo Cambus Cooperage, Cambus, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Clackmannanshire (the Rt. Hon. George Reid).

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex this evening gave a Dinner.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Tenovus and Tenovus Scotland, this evening attended a Concert in Llandaff Cathedral and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr. Peter Beck).

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Scottish Opera, this evening attended a Dinner in Covent Garden and subsequently attended a performance of “La Traviata” at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London WC2.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this evening attended a Farewell Dinner for the Vice Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings, at Lancaster University, Bailrigg, Lancaster.
