Windsor Castle

The Queen, Honorary Commissioner, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, this morning received Sergeant Major William Stewart at Windsor Castle when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, today presented Campaign Medals to 3 Close Support Battalion in Paderborn, Germany.

Major David Haslam was in attendance.

The Queen was represented by the Lady Susan Hussey at the Memorial Service for Mrs Betty Parsons which was held in St Marylebone Parish Church, London NW1, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal was represented by Leonora, Countess of Lichfield.

The Duchess of Gloucester was represented by Miss Christl Bruell.

The Duchess of Kent was represented by Lady Butter.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs Brian Duke.

Clarence House 

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning attended a Tree Planting Ceremony to mark the Diamond Jubilee at Ballater Golf Club, Victoria Road, Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received the Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China (His Excellency Mr Liu Xiaoming).

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr Chris Dodson (Co-Founder and Non Executive Director, TeenTech), Mr Roland Allen (Director and Chief Technical Officer, TeenTech) and Ms Maggie Philbin (Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, TeenTech).

The Duke of York received Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand (Mr Mark Kent).

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for the United States of America and later arrived at New York Newark Liberty International Airport.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the Films Without Borders Retrospective and Dinner at St Regis Hotel, Two East 55th Street, at Fifth Avenue, New York.

Mrs Rosemary Hamer is in attendance.

The Countess of Wessex this evening attended Windsor and Eton Operatic Society’s performance of Merrie England by Sir Edward German at the Court Theatre, Norden Farm, Altwood Road, Maidenhead, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss).

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, President, the City and Guilds of London Institute, this morning held The Prince Philip Medal Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Member, the Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow, this evening attended the Fiftieth Anniversary Awards Reception at the Trades Hall of Glasgow, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Robert Winter, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, later attended a Civic Dinner at Glasgow City Chambers, George Square, Glasgow.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Chancellor, University of Worcester, this evening attended the Universities UK Chancellor’’ Reception at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, 1 Parliament Square, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, SeeAbility this afternoon visited SeeAbility House, Hook Road, Epsom, Surrey.

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited St Raphael’s Hospice, London Road, North Cheam, Sutton, Surrey, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, Colonel-in-Chief, The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment), this morning received Colonel Gary Reamey and Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Phelps.
