COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The following were received in audience by The Queen today and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr David Hunt (the Republic of Lithuania) and Mr Gregory Dorey (the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia).

Mrs Hunt and Mrs Dorey were also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The Queen upon their appointment as British High Commissioners: Mr David Morley (the Republic of the Gambia) and Mr Andrew Ayre (the Co-operative Republic of Guyana).

Mrs Morley and Mrs AyreMoosberger were also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen this afternoon launched the Queen Victoria Journals On-Line Project at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Royal Hussars (The Queen’s Own and Royal Irish), today presented medals to the Regiment in Sennelager, Germany.

Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell was in attendance.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today arrived at Royal Air Force Brize Norton from Canada.

The Rt Hon Christopher Geidt, Mr William Nye, Mr Clive Alderton, Mr Patrick Harverson, Miss Eva Omaghomi and Mrs Sophie Densham were in attendance.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Harold Tilman (Chairman, British Fashion Council).

His Royal Highness, Patron, The Duke of York’s Community Initiative, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York afterwards attended the Trampery Angel Investor Dinner at the Trampery, 13-19 Bevenden Street, London N1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex this morning visited the Cocoa Black Chocolate and Pastry School, Unit 7, Southpark Industrial Estate, Peebles, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale (Captain David Younger).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, Eastgate, Peebles.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon opened the Community Centre at Newlands School and Community Centre, West Linton, Peeblesshire.

The Countess of Wessex, on behalf of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Monaco.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner in Monte Carlo.

Mrs Annabelle Galletley is in attendance.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal today opened Café on the Square, Sea Mills Green, Shirehampton Road, Bristol, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs John Prior).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the North Bristol National Health Service Trust Specialist Children and Family Centre, Long Cross, Lawrence Weston, Bristol.

The Princess Royal, Royal Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this evening visited the “Engineering a Better Society” Exhibition and attended a Dinner at City Hall, King Edward VII Avenue, Cardiff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr Peter Beck).

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at New South Wales Parliament House, 6 Macquarie Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner given by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Ms Quentin Bryce) at Government House, Canberra.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended the “Not Forgotten” Association Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Band of the Scots Guards played selections of music during the afternoon.

Her Royal Highness, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, Adjutant General’s Corps, this evening attended a Dinner at Regimental Headquarters, Gould House, Worthy Down, Winchester, Hampshire, to mark the Twentieth Anniversary of the Corps.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Association, this afternoon visited Kippford Lifeboat Station, Gorse Cottage, Kippford, Kirkcudbrightshire.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Jas. P. Wilson, Industrial Site, Coast Road, Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbrightshire.

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Association, afterwards visited Kirkcudbright Lifeboat Station, Dee Road, Kirkcudbright.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra this afternoon visited Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, Lark Rise, Loughborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire (Jennifer, Lady Gretton).

Her Royal Highness later visited Ravenstone Hospital Almshouses, Hospital Lane, Ravenstone, Leicestershire.
