Hillsborough Castle 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today commenced a visit to Northern Ireland in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness this morning arrived at Enniskillen Airport and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Fermanagh (the Earl of Erne) and the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP (Secretary of State for Northern Ireland).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to St Macartin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen, and were received by the Dean of Clogher (the Very Reverend Kenneth Hall), the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland (the Most Reverend Alan Harper), the Archbishop of Dublin (the Most Reverend Dr Michael Jackson) and the Bishop of Clogher (the Right Reverend John McDowell).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness attended a Service of Thanksgiving in the Cathedral and afterwards met families of the victims of the 1987 Enniskillen Bombing in the Deanery.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently walked to St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, escorted by the Lord Anthony Hamilton (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of County Fermanagh), were received by Canon Peter O’Reilly (Parish Priest), the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland (His Eminence Cardinal Seán Brady) and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher (the Most Reverend Dr Liam MacDaid), before meeting local community groups.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness this afternoon visited South West Acute Hospital, 124 Irvinestown Road, Enniskillen, and were received by the Chairman of Western Health and Social Care (Mr Gerard Guckian) and Mrs Elaine Way (Chief Executive).

The Queen, escorted by the Chairman, toured the Children’s Ward, meeting patients, parents and nursing staff, before meeting hospital volunteers, staff and chaplains.

The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by the Chief Executive, visited the Gymnasium, the Medical Imaging Unit and the Cardiology/Respiratory Clinic.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, Osprey Quay, Portland, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs Anthony PittRivers).

His Royal Highness, Duke of Cornwall this afternoon visited Poundbury.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning visited Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd, Burnaston, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Cathelco Limited, Dunston Road, Chesterfield.

The Duke of York this afternoon visited Thomas Vale Group, Worcester Road, Stourport-on-Severn, and was received by Mrs Angela Brinton (Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception for Made, the Entrepreneur Festival at 30 St Mary Axe, London EC3.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning attended the Jubilee Golf Day at Windsor Castle.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the British Nutrition Foundation, this morning attended British Nutrition Foundation’s Forty Fifth Anniversary Conference, at the Royal College of Physicians, 11 St Andrews Place, Regent’s Park, London NW1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, South Georgia Heritage Trust, this afternoon held a Luncheon at St James’s Palace.

The Princess Royal, later visited the “Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker: 850 Years of London Livery Company Treasures” Exhibition at Guildhall, London EC2.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this evening attended the Academy Awards Dinner at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London WC2.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, Royal Patron, this evening attended a Preview of Masterpiece London at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Leeds Castle Foundation, was represented by the Lady Mary Mumford at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Brandon Gough (formerly Chairman) which was held in Westminster Cathedral, London SW1, this afternoon.
