Buckingham Palace 

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, today unveiled the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the President, Bomber Command Association (Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Michael Beetham) and Air Commodore Malcolm White (Chairman of the Association).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness attended a Service of Dedication and witnessed a fly-past by five Tornado aircraft of the Royal Air Force and the Avro Lancaster bomber from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards met British and Overseas World War Two Bomber Command veterans.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon attended the Royal Honorary Air Commodores Luncheon at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly, London W1, and were received by Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton (Chief of the Air Staff), the President of the Royal Air Force Club (Marshal of the Royal Air Force the Lord Craig of Radley) and Air Vice-Marshal Matthew Wiles (Chairman).

The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy also attended.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Book Aid International, this morning received Mr Clive Nettleton upon relinquishing his appointment as Director and Mrs Alison Hubert upon assuming the appointment.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales, President, the Royal Ballet, this morning received Dame Monica Mason upon relinquishing her appointment as Director and Mr Kevin O’Hare upon assuming the appointment.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall met World War Two Bomber Command veterans this afternoon following the unveiling of the Memorial by The Queen.

His Royal Highness, President, this evening held a Reception for Friends of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Diamond Jubilee Tea for older people at St Paul’s Church, Onslow Square, London SW7, and was received by Lady Arnold (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Diamond Champions (the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service campaign to recognise the contribution of older volunteers), afterwards visited Queens Ice and Bowl, 17 Queensway, Bayswater, London W2.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this afternoon held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace for the National Youth Enterprise Working Group.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the Russell Group Vice Chancellor’s Dinner at the British Academy, 10 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects Group (for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this afternoon chaired a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Director, London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralymic Games, this morning attended a Board Meeting and Reception at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London E14.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, this evening attended the Vice Presidents’ Meeting and Dinner at the Shell Centre, York Road, London SE1.
