Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace for members of the International Olympic Committee.

The Duke of York, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was present.

Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan) was present at Farnborough Airport today upon the arrival of The Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and welcomed His Majesty on behalf of The Queen.

Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer) was present at London City Airport today upon the arrival of The Grand Duke of Luxembourg and welcomed His Royal Highness on behalf of The Queen.

Colonel Michael Dudding (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at London City Airport today upon the arrival of The Prince and Princess of Monaco and welcomed Their Serene Highnesses on behalf of Her Majesty.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham (Sir Paul Nicholson).

His Royal Highness subsequently held a Meeting with representatives from Auckland Castle.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this afternoon held a Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Abbeyfield, this afternoon visited Abbeyfield House, 17 Dial Place, Warkworth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northumberland (the Duchess of Northumberland).

The Prince of Wales afterwards met volunteers and local artists at the Pride of Northumbria Shop, 80 Queen Street, Amble, Northumberland.

His Royal Highness subsequently met local community groups, young performers and fishermen in Town Square, Amble.

The Prince of Wales later visited J. S. Lunn and Sons, the Forge, Red Row, Northumberland.

His Royal Highness, Marshal of the Royal Air Force, afterwards visited Royal Air Force Boulmer, Alnwick, Northumberland.

The Prince of Wales subsequently visited Boulmer Village, Alnwick.

His Royal Highness later visited Heckley High House, Alnwick.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning visited the Exhibition the Horse: Arabia to Royal Ascot at the British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1.

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended the Opening Ceremony of the One Hundred and Twenty Fourth International Olympic Committee Session at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London WC2.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, Stoney Lane, Prescot, and was received by Mr David McDonnell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Helena Housing Association, 4 Corporation Street, St Helens, Merseyside.

The Duke of Kent afterwards visited St Helens Rugby Stadium, St Helens.

His Royal Highness later visited Acorn Farm, Depot Road, Kirkby, Knowsley, Merseyside.
