COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Rt Hon Mark Francois MP (Vice Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen today and presented Addresses from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Miss Patricia Lloyd was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.

Mr Alastair Watson was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary and Treasurer to The Duke of York.

Mr Alan Christian was received by The Queen when Her Majesty decorated him with a Bar to the Royal Victorian Medal (Silver).

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning received the Governor-General of Canada (His Excellency the Rt Hon David Johnston).

The Queen was represented by Field Marshal the Lord Bramall KG (formerly Aide-de-Camp General) at the Funeral of General Sir David Fraser (formerly Aide-de-Camp General) which was held at the Church of the Holy Cross, Binsted, near Alton, Hampshire, this afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Major General George Norton.

Mrs Susan Pyper (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex) was present at Gatwick Airport, London, today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Latvia and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

Sir David Brewer (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Cyprus, The President of Kenya, The President of Mongolia, The President of the Republic of Mozambique and The President of the Republic of Singapore and welcomed Their Excellencies on behalf of Her Majesty.

The Lord Petre (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex) was present at Stansted Airport today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Armenia, The President of Azerbaijan, The President of the Italian Republic and The President of Panama and welcomed Their Excellencies on behalf of The Queen.

Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Croatia, The President of the Republic of Kosovo, The President of the Republic of Macedonia, The President of the Republic of Slovenia and The President of the Tunisian Republic and welcomed Their Excellencies on behalf of Her Majesty.

Mr Gordon Tregear (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex) was present at Gatwick Airport, London, today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Serbia and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

Colonel Colin Mason (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire) was present at Luton Airport today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Rwanda and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

Sir Kenneth Knight (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt today upon the Arrival of The President of Georgia and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

Colonel Michael Dudding (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London) was present at London City Airport today upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Lithuania and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mrs Portia Simpson-Miller (Prime Minister of Jamaica).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, held a Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales, President, the British Asian Trust, this afternoon held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness received Mr Laurent Lamothe (Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall received the Governor-General of New Zealand (His Excellency Lieutenant General the Rt Hon Sir Jeremiah Mateparae) and Lady Mateparae.

Their Royal Highnesses received the Governor-General of Canada (His Excellency the Rt Hon David Johnston) and Mrs Johnston.

The Prince of Wales this evening held a Reception at Clarence House for delegates of the British Government’s Global Investment Conference.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Henry of Wales, Patrons, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, today launched the Coach Core programme at Bacon’s College, Timber Pond Road, Rotherhithe, London SE16.

Their Royal Highnesses, Olympic Ambassadors, this evening witnessed the exchange of the Olympic Torch in the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mr Mukesh Ambani (Chairman, Reliance Industries Limited), Mrs Nita Ambani (Founder, Dhirubhai Ambani International School) and Mr Nikhil Meswani (Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited).

The President of the Republic of Panama called upon His Royal Highness.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Reception at Clarence House for delegates of the British Government’s Global Investment Conference.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Dinner given by British Petroleum plc onboard MV Silver Sturgeon.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, this morning attended the International Olympic Committee Session at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, President, British Olympic Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a pre-Olympic Reception given by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor and the Lord Mayor of London at Mansion House, London EC4.

Kensington Palace 

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this evening held a Reception at Kensington Palace, given by the Lawn Tennis Association and the International Tennis Federation on the occasion of the XXX Olympic Games.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, this evening attended a Reception at Kensington Palace, given by the Lawn Tennis Association and the International Tennis Federation on the occasion of the XXX Olympic Games.
