COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

Mr Joseph Last was received by The Queen today when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.

His Excellency Dr Ernest Hilaire was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as High Commissioner for St Lucia in London.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Stuart Gill (the Republic of Iceland), Mr Mark Kent (the Kingdom of Thailand), Mr David Slinn (the Republic of Croatia) and Mr Andrew Sparkes (the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal).

Mrs Gill, Ms Marine Delogne and Ms Heidi Hulan were also received by Her Majesty.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Borough Market, 8 Southwark Street, London SE1.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr Nicholas Boles MP (Minister for Planning and Development).

The Prince of Wales received Mr Marc Bolland (Chief Executive, Marks and Spencer plc.).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, afterwards attended a Reception at the Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Prince of Wales later received Congressman Robert Inglis of the United States of America at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Reception at the Savoy Hotel, London WC2, for the Trust’s “Invest in Futures”.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York, Patron, this morning visited the studios of Services Sound and Vision Corporation, Chalfont Grove, Narcot Lane, Chalfont St Peter, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire (Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Bt).

His Royal Highness later visited TMD Technologies Limited, Swallowfield Way, Hayes, Middlesex, and was received by Her Majesty’ Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duke of York this afternoon visited Westside Young People’s Centre, Churchfield Road, Ealing, London W13, and was received by Mr Robert Leader (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Demarquette Chocolates, 10 Acklam Road, London W10, and was received by Lady Arnold (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning visited the Building Crafts College, Kennard Road, London E15, and was received by Mr John Barber (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Livability, later attended the launch of the “Employability” Campaign at the House of Lords, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Younger Brethren Guest Night at Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, this morning attended an address given by the Rt Hon. William Hague MP (Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) entitled “Countering Terrorism Overseas”, at the Institute, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, President, the Scout Association, this afternoon attended the Vice-President’s Luncheon at St James’s Palace.
