COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held a Council at 5.30 pm.

There were present: The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Vincent Cable MP (Secretary of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills), the Rt Hon Maria Miller MP (Secretary of State, Department for Culture, Media and Sport) and the Lord Hill of Oareford (Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).

The Most Reverend and Rt Hon the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord Brabazon of Tara and the Lord Henley were sworn in as Members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council).

At the Council, The Queen, pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of England (other than Cornwall and those in the Duchy of Lancaster) and Wales.

After the Council, the Lord Hill of Oareford had an audience of The Queen when Her Majesty pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of the Duchy of Lancaster.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Fellow, the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, this evening held the Inaugural David Bellamy Lecture at Buckingham Palace.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, accompanied by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad and Princess Wijdan bint Fawaz Al-Hashemi, this morning carried out engagements in Jordan.

Their Royal Highnesses visited the King Abdullah Refugee Camp.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited the Roman City of Jerash.

His Royal Highness, Founder, Mosaic, this afternoon visited the Mosaic and Injaz Enterprise Challenge Finals at the Intercontinental Hotel, Amman.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards departed Amman Marka Airport, Jordan, for Qatar and were received upon arrival at Doha International Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar (His Excellency Mr Michael O’Neill).

Their Royal Highnesses later visited the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Port.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Turquoise Mountain Foundation, and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards attended a preview of the “Ferozkoh” exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Port.

His Royal Highness, United Kingdom Patron, and Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception celebrating the United Kingdom-Qatar 2013 Year of Culture, at the Museum of Islamic Art.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning held a Meeting for the Royal Institution of Great Britain.

His Royal Highness later visited Mother London Limited, Biscuit Building, 10 Redchurch Street, London E2, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duke of York afterwards visited Yammer, 80 Great Eastern Street, London EC2.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, this afternoon held a Trustees’ Meeting followed by a Patron’s Company Lunch.

The Duke of York, Grand Master, the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators, later received Air Marshal Clifford Spink upon relinquishing his appointment as Master and His Honour Judge Tudor Owen upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for the judges of The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex today carried out engagements in Prague, the Czech Republic.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning attended a Reception at Czernin Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex later visited Pod Palmovkou Theatre and viewed a rehearsal.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic (Her Excellency Miss Sian MacLeod) at the Residence.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex later attended an Afternoon Tea promoting British Trade given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic at the Residence.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Gala Dinner at Martinicky Palace.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited the Sue Ryder Care Home.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary Freeman and Liveryman, and The Duchess of Gloucester, Liveryman, the Vintners’ Company, this afternoon attended a Service in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, to commemorate the Six Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Company’s Royal Charter, followed by a Reception at Grange St Paul’s Hotel, 10 Godliman Street, London EC4.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Construction Youth Trust, this evening attended The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Awards at the Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, London W1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, Royal Institution of Great Britain, this morning attended a Meeting held by The Duke of York at Buckingham Palace.
