Windsor Castle
The Queen honoured Ascot Races with her presence today.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Earl of Airlie KT, Chancellor of the Order of the Thistle, at the Memorial Service for Sir Garth Morrison KT (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Lothian) which was held at St Mary’s Parish Church, Haddington, East Lothian, this afternoon.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay was represented by the Lord Steel of Aikwood KT.
The Princess Royal was represented by the Lord Wilson of Tillyorn KT.
The Duke of Kent was represented by Sir Alan Craft.
Clarence House
The Prince of Wales, Patron, Marie Curie Cancer Care, this morning opened the new Marie Curie Hospice in Marsh Lane, Solihull, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr Paul Sabapathy).
His Royal Highness this afternoon opened Fisher House, “a home away from home for military patients and their families”, and afterwards visited military patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Mindelsohn Way, Birmingham.
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal, Honorary Member, the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, today visited the Royal Highland Show, Ingliston, Midlothian, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
