COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

His Excellency Mr Jovan Donev was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Macedonia to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Mitrevska-Doneva was also received by Her Majesty His Excellency Mr Williams Nkurunziza was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Rwanda in London.

Mrs Leonia Nkuruh was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

General Sir David Richards was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief of the Defence Staff.

Major General George Norton was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Major General Commanding Household Division when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Queen gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening to mark the inauguration of The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

The Duke of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

The Queen was represented by Sir Colin Budd (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Michael Jenkins (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands) which was held in the Chapel of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3, this afternoon.

Her Majesty was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Birdwood (Gentleman Usher to The Queen) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Captain Michael Barrow RN (formerly Gentleman Usher to The Queen) which was held in the Cathedral Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, Portsmouth, Hampshire, this afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Captain Nicholas Wright RN.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited the Wright Group, Galgorm, Ballymena, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim (Mrs Joan Christie).

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception for members of the farming community at the Town Hall, Upper Cross Street, Larne, County Antrim.

The Prince of Wales, President, later visited The Prince’s Trust Centre, 8 Weavers Court, Belfast, and was received by Sir Nigel Hamilton (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Book Trust, attended a children’s healthy eating cookery class at Broughshane Library, Main Street, Broughshane, to mark National Bookstart Week, and was received by Mr Richard Reade (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim).

Her Royal Highness afterwards officially opened the Rowan Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Antrim Area Hospital, 45 Bush Road, Antrim.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning visited Invingem Autismul Association, Bucharest, Romania.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards called upon the Prime Minister of Romania at Victoria Palace, Bucharest.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex later visited the British Council in Bucharest to celebrate Seventy Five Years of cultural relations in Romania.

Their Royal Highnesses today visited the British Embassy in Bucharest and were received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Romania (His Excellency Mr Martin Harris).

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon attended a Luncheon to launch the British Business Portal in Romania at the Intercontinental Hotel, Bucharest.

Their Royal Highnesses were received later by The President of Romania at Cotroceni Palace, Bucharest.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Reception for The Queen’s Birthday at Bragadiru Palace, Calea Rahovei, Bucharest.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Elisabeta Palace, Kiseleff Road, Bucharest.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal today carried out engagements as Patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board.

Her Royal Highness this morning visited Dubh Artach Pillar Rock Lighthouse (offshore), near Colonsay, Argyll and Bute.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Scarinish Lighthouse, Isle of Tiree, Argyll and Bute.

Her Royal Highness later visited Cairns of Coll Lighthouse (offshore), Isle of Coll, Argyll and Bute.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Canine Partners for Independence, this morning received Mr Simon Clare upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of Trustees and Mr Mark Richardson upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon received Professor Anthony Mellows (Lord Prior) and Mr Rodney Green (Prior of England).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Bobath Scotland, this afternoon received Mrs Stephanie Fraser (Chief Executive).

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, today received Lieutenant General Sir Alistair Irwin (Vice President).
