COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen, Duke of Lancaster today received Mr Paul Clarke (Chief Executive Officer, the Duchy of Lancaster) and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order on his retirement as Clerk of the Council.

Mr Nathan Thompson (Chief Executive Officer designate) was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Alexander Graham was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Gentleman Usher of the Purple Rod of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and delivered up to Her Majesty the Insignia of Office.

Dame Amelia Fawcett was received by The Queen upon her appointment as Lady Usher of the Purple Rod of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire when Her Majesty handed to her the Insignia of Office.

Mr Alan Ryan was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.

Mr Daniel Martell was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Queen this evening gave a Reception for the winners of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York, with Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex and The Duke of Kent were present.

A Salute of 41 guns was fired in Green Park this afternoon by The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Captain John Gibson, and a Salute of 62 guns was fired from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Major David Daniel, in honour of the infant Prince.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Uncleby Education Centre, Kirby Underdale, York, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Riding of Yorkshire (the Hon Mrs Susan Cunliffe-Lister).

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited Burton Fleming and met members of the community and emergency service workers affected by the floods of January 2013 at Burton Arms Public House, Bridlington Road, Burton Fleming, Driffield.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Bridlington Harbour, Gummers Wharf, West End, Bridlington.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later visited Bridlington Priory to mark its Nine Hundredth Anniversary.

Their Royal Highness afterwards visited Valley Gardens and Shores Centre, 29-31 Withernsea Road, Withernsea, and were received by Mr Nicholas Hildyard (Deputy Lieutenant of East Riding of Yorkshire).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Fish and Chips at 149, 149 Marton Road, Bridlington.

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited the Spa Bridlington, South Marine Drive, Bridlington.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York, Patron, Middle East Association, this morning received Mr Andrew Clowes (Chairman) and Mr Matthew Smith (Director General).

His Royal Highness, Patron, University of Huddersfield, this afternoon received Professor Robert Cryan (Vice-Chancellor).

The Duke of York, Patron, Royal Society for Asian Affairs, received the Lord Davies of Abersoch (President) and Sir David John (Chairman).

Buckingham Palace 

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, British Wheelchair Basketball, this morning visited the British Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams at Swiss Cottage Sports Centre, Adelaide Road, London NW3.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Craft Guild of Chefs, this afternoon held a Lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, later received Mr Peter Wanless upon assuming his appointment as Chief Executive.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this morning visited Clayton Hall Farm, Wakefield Road, Clayton West, Wakefield, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr Ingrid Roscoe).

Her Royal Highness later opened the newly renovated Underground Tour and Roadways at the National Coal Mining Museum, Caphouse Colliery, New Road, Overton, Wakefield.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited the Candy Makers Limited, Lenton Drive, Parkside Industrial Estate, Beeston, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Her Royal Highness later attended the Herriot Hospice Homecare Twenty First Anniversary Garden Party at Eelmire, Masham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).
