Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, President, Ebony Horse Club, this morning visited Ebony Horse Club Community Riding Centre, Millbrook Road, London SW9, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the Chairman of Ebony Horse Club (Ms S. York) and the Mayor of the London Borough of Lambeth (Councillor Mark Bennett).

Her Majesty, escorted by Ms R. Spearing (Director), and Her Royal Highness, escorted by the Chairman, viewed the yard and a classroom, meeting school children, volunteers, supporters and members of staff.

The Queen and The Duchess of Cornwall viewed a riding display in the outdoor arena and met young riders and horses.

The Lady Susan Hussey and the Hon. Mary Morrison were received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty invested them with the Insignia of Dames Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning received Dame Amelia Fawcett upon assuming the role of Lady Usher of the Purple Rod.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Intelligence Corps, received Colonel Christopher Bird upon relinquishing his appointment of Colonel Intelligence Corps and Colonel John Murray upon assuming the appointment.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr Antony Jenkins (Chief Executive, Barclays).

His Royal Highness today gave a Reception for participants and players of the Rugby League World Cup at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received Ms. Janine Kirk (Chief Executive, Prince’s Charities Australia).

The Crown Prince of Bahrain called upon His Royal Highness.

The Prince of Wales received the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco.

His Royal Highness received His Excellency Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali (President, Islamic Development Bank).

The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan called upon The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan called upon Their Royal Highnesses.

The Prince of Wales this evening attended a Reception for World Islamic Economic Forum at ExCel London, Victoria Dock, London E16, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Cornwall was presented with an Orchid this afternoon by the Hon Justin Tkatchenko MP (Papua New Guinean Minister for Sports, Pacific Games and National Events) on behalf of the Government of Papua New Guinea at Clarence House.

The Duke of York, Patron, this afternoon held a Lunch for Sound Seekers at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Mr Anthony Fadell (Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nest Labs).

The Duke of York this evening attended an Asian Festival Reception given by KPMG Limited Liability at Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel, Cadogan Place SW1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, later held a Dinner for Fight for Sight at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this morning attended an Education Committee Meeting at Haberdashers’ Hall, 18 West Smithfield, London EC1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, this afternoon attended a performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at the Ambassadors Theatre, West Street, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended a Ministry of Defence Reception at No 10 Downing Street.

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this morning attended the North Wales, North West and West Mercia Supra Regional Conference at South Staffordshire College, Rodbaston Campus, Penkridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr Ian Dudson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Transaid, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the charity’s Fifteenth Anniversary.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Voluntary Service Overseas, later held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Pestalozzi International Village Trust, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Athenaeum Club, 107 Pall Mall, London SW1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this evening attended the Hinton Lecture at 3 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.
