Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited Her Majesty this afternoon.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Health), the Rt Hon Maria Miller MP (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport) and the Lord McNally (Minister of State, Ministry of Justice).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron and Twelfth Man, this afternoon presented the Lord’s Taverners County Championship Medals at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Federation of London Youth Clubs, this evening visited Prospex Youth Club at Goodinge Community Centre, North Road, London N7, and Highbury Vale Blackstock Trust, Elizabeth House, Hurlock Street, London N5, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Royal Television Society, this morning attended the Royal Television Society inaugural Craft Skills Master Class, Hospital Club, 24 Endell Street, London WC2, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Reception for the Nursing Times Award Winners and Nominees at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales afterwards received the Royal Mail Christmas Stamp Design Winners.

His Royal Highness received His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma (Commonwealth Secretary-General).

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, received Sheikh Khalid Alireza and Sheikh Bakr Bin Laden.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mr Ayman Asfari (Chief Executive Officer, Petrofac Limited).

His Royal Highness received the Japanese Ambassador (His Excellency Mr Keiichi Hayashi).

The Duke of York this evening held a Dinner for International Chief Executives at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, this morning attended a Board Meeting at 60 Charlotte Street, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, this afternoon received Mr Jonathan White (Chairman), Dr Lee Durrell (Honorary Director) and Mr Oliver (Chief Executive).

The Princess Royal, Commandant-in-Chief (Youth), St John Ambulance, later attended the Young Achievers’ Reception at the Honourable Artillery Company, Armoury House, City Road, London EC1, and was received by Dr Charles Goodson-Wickes (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Institution of Civil Engineers Charity Appeal, this evening attended the Shaping the World Campaign Reception at the Institution of Civil Engineers, One Great George Street, London SW1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to ETL Systems Limited, Coldwell Radio Station, Madley, and was received be Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire (the Countess of Darnley).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, later visited Lower Blakemere Farm, Blakemere.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited 22 Special Air Service Regiment, Stirling Lines, Hereford.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, President, Royal Star and Garter Homes, this afternoon opened a new Care Home at Upper Brighton Road, Surbiton, Surrey.
