Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited the Shard, London Bridge, London SE1, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer) and the Mayor of the London Borough of Southwark (Councillor Abdul Mohamed).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Chairman of Sellar Property Group (Mr Irvine Sellar) and the Leader of Southwark Council (Councillor Peter John), ascended the building via the Viewing Gallery to the open air viewing platform and met members of staff, Borough Market representatives, Southwark representatives and Southwark Scholars.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, and were received by the Dean (the Very Reverend Andrew Nunn) and Chapter.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Dean and Canon Bruce Saunders (Sub-Dean and Canon Pastor), viewed the Diamond Jubilee Window where a Prayer of Blessing was given by the Bishop of Southwark, before viewing and meeting members of the Worshipful Company of Broderers who were working on a new set of Jubilee Copes to be worn by the four Bishops of the Diocese.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Rifles, this evening attended the Regimental Awards Dinner in Davies Street, London W1.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, this morning held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon held a Reception and launched the “Step Up To Serve” campaign at Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Concert given by the Philharmonia Orchestra at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, today carried out the following engagements in Hong Kong.

Her Royal Highness this morning visited the Society of Boys’ Centres Hui Chung Sing Memorial School, 150 Pratas Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon attended a Luncheon for the World Fellowship at the Intercontinental Hotel, 18 Salisbury Road, Kowloon.

Her Royal Highness this evening held a Meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The Countess of Wessex afterwards attended a Young Fellowship Reception at Ammo, Asia Society, Hong Kong Centre, 9 Justice Drive, Admiralty, Hong Kong Island.

Her Royal Highness later departed Hong Kong International Airport for the United Kingdom.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this morning attended the Annual General Meeting and Awards Luncheon at One Great George Street, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Wellington Trust, this afternoon attended a Reception and visited the Battle of the Atlantic Exhibition onboard HQS Wellington, Victoria Embankment, London WC2.

The Princess Royal was admitted as a Royal Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences this evening during a Dinner at the Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon held an Investiture at the Priory Church of St John, Clerkenwell, London EC1.

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 6th Battalion, and The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Colonel, 7th Battalion, this evening attended The Rifles Regimental Awards Dinner at The Rifles Officers’ London Club, Davies Street, London W1.

The Duchess of Gloucester, President, this morning attended a Meeting of the Governing Body at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London NW1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President-in-Chief, the British Racing Drivers’ Club, this morning received Mr John Grant (Chairman).

Princess Alexandra, Royal Colonel, 3rd Battalion The Rifles, this evening attended the Regimental Awards Dinner at The Rifles Officers’ Club, 52-56 Davies Street, London W1.
