Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Matthew Barzun was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the United States of America to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Barzun was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Norman Hamilton was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for Malta in London.

Mrs Hamilton was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Baroness Garden of Frognal and the Baroness Stowell of Beeston were received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing their appointment as Baronesses in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Viscount Younger of Leckie was received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as a Lord in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Baroness Jolly was received by The Queen upon assuming her appointment as a Baroness in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Lord Bates and the Lord Popat of Harrow were received by The Queen upon assuming their appointment as Lords in Waiting to Her Majesty.

Members of the family of the Indigenous Australian artist Albert Namatjira were received by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

Mr Andrew Todd (Deputy High Commissioner from the Commonwealth of Australia) was present.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Government Communications Headquarters London and viewed an exhibition commemorating One Hundred Years of Intelligence and Security.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening attended a Trustees’ Dinner at the Hyde Park Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this afternoon visited the London College of Fashion, 20 John Princes Street, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Wallace Collection, this evening attended the Old Masters Dinner at Hertford House, Manchester Square, London W1.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Restorative Justice Council, this afternoon attended the “Making Restorative Justice Work” Seminar at 110 Rochester Row, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, later received Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Wrench upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Munro upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this evening attended Foundation Day at the Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron-in-Chief, Scottish Veterans’ Residences, this morning received Mr Ian Ballantyne upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive and Mr Philip Cox upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the launch of Wellesley House School’s “Hungry for History” campaign at the East India Club, 16 St James’s Square, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Chief Patron, Hope for Youth Northern Ireland, this evening attended the Charity Swim between the House of Lords and the House of Commons and between Junior Swim Ulster and Chelsea and Westminster Youth Swimming Club at the Porchester Hall, Queensway, London W2.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this evening attended a Reception given by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland at the Embassy, 47 Portland Place, London W1, in support of the Wojtek Memorial Trust.
