Buckingham Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Canada Club, this evening attended a Reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of His Royal Highness’s patronage of the Canada Club.

The Queen was represented by Prince Henry of Wales at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Mr Nelson Mandela OM which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

By command of Her Majesty, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) today received His Excellency Mr Khouanta Phalivong at Ambassadors Court, St James’s Palace, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Court of St James’s.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Reception for the Egyptian British Business Council at the Residence of the Egyptian Ambassador in London.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning called upon the Governor-General of Jamaica (His Excellency the Most Hon Sir Patrick Allen) at King’s House, Hope Road, Kingston, Jamaica.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation afterwards attended a Meeting of the Jamaica Award Board at King’s House.

The Earl of Wessex subsequently visited Portmore Heart Academy, St Catherine.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this afternoon attended a State Luncheon given by the Governor-General of Jamaica at King’s House.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited the University of Technology, Jamaica, 237 Old Hope Road, Kingston.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Dinner for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Genesis Academy, 38 South Camp Road, Kingston.

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Bustamante Hospital for Children, Arthur Wint Drive, Kingston.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this afternoon attended a Reception to mark World Tennis Day at the House of Commons, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this evening attended the World Tennis Day Showdown at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, London SW5.
