COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

Mr. George Hassall was received by Her Majesty when The Queen invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Plantlife International, this morning visited the Coronation Meadow for East Sussex at Beech Estate, Coach Road Field, Battle, to mark the First Anniversary of the Coronation Meadows Project, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Peter Field).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Plantlife International, the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and the Wildlife Trusts, this afternoon attended the “Reversing the Trend” Conference near Steyning and was received by Mr. H. Goring (Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex).

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited a Countryside Classroom “Chef on the Farm” day.

His Royal Highness later received the Lord King of Bridgewater.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge this morning unveiled a commemorative statue of Captain Matthew Flinders RN at Australia House, the Strand, London WC2, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Past Captain, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, today attended the Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake, Wirral, of which His Royal Highness is Patron.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Honorary President, the Oxford Farming Conference, was represented by the Hon. Mrs. Legge-Bourke (Lady in Waiting) at the Memorial Service for Sir Benjamin Gill (formerly President, National Farmers Union) which was held in Hereford Cathedral this afternoon.
