COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning re-opened Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London W1, and was received by the High Commissioner of Canada (His Excellency Mr Gordon Campbell).

Mr John Sommerville (Head of Property) presented The Queen with a Ceremonial Key, which Her Majesty returned to him.

The Queen, escorted by Mr John Baird (former Canadian Foreign Minister), and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by the High Commissioner, walked through the building, viewing artefacts and meeting members of staff and armed forces personnel, before observing the naming of the new Queen Elizabeth Atrium.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Chinatown, Gerrard Street, London W1, to mark Chinese New Year and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Archbishop of Canterbury was received by His Royal Highness this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, later held a Reception at Clarence House for the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Lady Patron, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1, and was received by The Duke of Kent (President).

Today is the Anniversary of the Birthday of The Duke of York.

The Princess Royal today carried out the following engagements in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Her Royal Highness this morning visited the Institute for the Study of International Development at McGill University, James Administration Building, 845 Sherbrooke Street West.

The Princess Royal afterwards visited Santropol Roulant, a Centraide Agency, at 111 Roy Street East.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Canadian Hussars (Montreal), this afternoon visited the Regiment at Côte-des-Neiges Armoury, 4185 Côte-des-Neiges.

The Princess Royal later presented Awards to young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Lower Canada College, 4090 Avenue Royal.

Her Royal Highness this evening departed from Montreal Trudeau International Airport for the United Kingdom.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, St. Mungo’s Broadway, this morning visited the Endell Street Complex, 83 Endell Street, London WC2.

His Royal Highness, President, the Cavalry and Guards Club, this afternoon attended a Lunch at 127 Piccadilly, London W1.
