The Queen, Sovereign of the Order, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, was present this morning at a Service of the Royal Victorian Order held in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal, Grand Master of the Order, and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy were also present.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received by the Dean of Windsor (the Right Reverend David Conner) and the Chaplain of the Order (the Reverend Professor Peter Galloway).
Detachments of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and the Military Knights of Windsor were on duty in St. George’s Chapel.
Afterwards The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Windsor Castle for those who attended the Service.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this afternoon opened the Engineering Centre, Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.
His Royal Highness later held a Meeting for The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation at Dumfries House.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this evening gave a Dinner for supporters of Dumfries House.
The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, and The Duchess of Cornwall were represented by Air Commodore Christina Elliot at the Funeral Service of Sergeant Hubert Flower (Battle of Britain veteran) which was held at Chichester Crematorium, Westhampnett Road, Chichester, West Sussex, this afternoon.
The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.
His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening attended the Silver Anniversary Wentworth Golf Reception at Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey.
The Countess of Wessex, Patron, London College of Fashion, this evening held a Reception at St. James’s Palace.
The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children UK, this afternoon attended a Reception for volunteers at Northcote House, Sunningdale Park, Larch Avenue, Ascot, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).
Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, WISE, later met students involved in the Outbox Incubator Project at 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2. The Princess Royal, Appeal Patron, the Woolf Institute, this evening attended a Dinner at Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.
