COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, Welsh Guards, with The Duke of Edinburgh and accompanied by The Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Regiment, with The Duchess of Cornwall, this afternoon presented new Colours to 1st Battalion Welsh Guards in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received with a Royal Salute and The Queen inspected the Battalion before presenting New Colours to 1st Battalion Welsh Guards.

After the presentation The Queen was graciously pleased to address the Regiment and the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel replied.

The Welsh Guards subsequently marched past Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, afterwards attended a Regimental Garden Party at Windsor Castle.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, “Indigenous Australia: enduring civilisation” Exhibition, this evening visited the exhibition at the British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s), this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace for the Regimental Trustees.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Financial Services Dinner at the Rosewood Hotel, 252 High Holborn, London WC1.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon visited Blythe House Hospice, Eccles Fold, Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

His Royal Highness later visited North Lees Estate, Peak District National Park, Derbyshire.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended the Kinder Children’s Choirs of the High Peak’s Gala Concert at Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Derbyshire.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this morning opened the new Royal London Dental Hospital and Queen Mary University of London Dental School, Turner Street, London E1.

Her Royal Highness, President, Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, this afternoon presented The Princess Royal Award at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, President, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, this afternoon visited Beaufort House, 7 Rectory Road, Burnham on Sea, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mrs. Anne Maw).

His Royal Highness later visited Coleridge Cottage, 35 Lime Street Stowey, Bridgewater, and was received by Lieutenant Colonel David Eliot (Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset).

The Duke of Gloucester subsequently visited Fairfield, Stogursey, Bridgewater.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Muchelney Abbey, Langport, Somerset.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, later visited Frogmary Green Farm, West Street, South Petherton, Somerset and this evening attended the Somerset Beef Dinner.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this morning attended the Annual Investiture of Grand Chapter at Freemasons’ Hall, 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2.
