COURT CIRCULAR

Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and were received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.

A Guard of Honour found by The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Alastair Colville, was mounted in the Forecourt.

Afterwards Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

The Queen was represented by General Sir Kevin O’Donoghue (Gentleman Usher to the Sword of State) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of General Sir Edward Burgess (formerly Gentleman Usher to the Sword of State and Aide-de-Camp General) which was held in Guildford Cathedral this afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by General Sir Samuel Cowan.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were represented by Mr Michael Sefi (Keeper of the Royal Philatelic Collection) at the Service of Thanksgiving for Mr. Charles Goodwyn (formerly Keeper of the Royal Philatelic Collection) which was held at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Old Amersham, Buckinghamshire, this afternoon.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received Professor Thomas Symons (Chairman, Ontario Heritage Trust, and Founding President and Vanier Professor Emeritus, Trent University).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, this afternoon attended the Annual Degree Show at 19-22 Charlotte Road, Shoreditch, London EC2.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Joint Presidents, this evening attended a Reception at Lancaster House, London SW1, for the Elephant Family.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, University of Bath, this afternoon presided at Degree Congregations at Bath Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mrs. Richard Maw).

His Royal Highness, Chancellor, afterwards opened the Alan Cotton Exhibition at the Edge, Arts and Management Building, University of Bath.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, University of Bath, this evening attended the Chancellor’s Dinner at the Pump Room, Stall Street, Bath.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Combined Services Winter Sports Association, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the Wallace Collection, afterwards held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, President, Breast Cancer Haven Guardians, this evening attended the Future Dreams Midsummer Night Party at Sushisamba, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this morning opened the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute, King’s College London, Denmark Hill Campus, 125 Coldharbour Lane, London SE5.

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children United Kingdom, this afternoon attended a Summer Tea Party at Lambeth Palace, London SE1.

Buckingham Palace

Princess Alexandra this morning visited the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, East Molesey, Surrey.
