The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Heritage Malta Conservation Division, Kalkara, and were received by Dr Owen Bonnici MP (Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government), the Chairman (Dr Joseph Buttigieg) and Mr Kenneth Gambin (Chief Executive Officer).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness toured the laboratories before viewing a Maltese Cultural Show and hearing about Heritage Malta’s restoration projects.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received afterwards by Mr Leo Brincat MP (Minister for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change) before embarking in a traditional Maltese Dghajsa and crossing the Grand Harbour.
Her Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, later visited Customs Wharf, Valletta Harbour, was received by Dr. Edward Zammit Lewis MP (Minister for Tourism), the Chairman, Malta Tourism Authority (Dr. Gavin Gulia), Mr Paul Bugeja (Chief Executive Officer) and Professor Alexiei Dingli (Mayor of Valletta) before unveiling a Commonwealth Walkway Disc.
The Queen, with The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by The President of the Republic of Malta and Mr Preca, honoured Marsa Races with her presence this afternoon.
Afterwards The President of the Republic of Malta and Mr Preca bade farewell to Her Majesty and His Royal Highness at Malta International Airport upon the conclusion of the Royal Visit to Malta.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, attended by the Lady Elton, Sir Christopher Geidt, Vice Admiral Tony Johnstone-Burt, Mrs Samantha Cohen, Ms Sally Osman, Surgeon Captain David Hett RN, Commander Patrick Lacey RN, Mr Michael Jephson, Wing Commander Samuel Fletcher RAF and Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell, later arrived at Stansted Airport from Malta and were received at the Airport by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Cathedral and Square in Mdina, Malta.
Their Royal Highnesses later arrived at Royal Air Force Brize Norton from Malta.
Mr Clive Alderton, Mr. James Bowden, the Earl of Rosslyn, Miss Melissa Haydon-Clarke, Miss Kristina Kyriacou, Miss Eva Omaghomi, Major Harry Pilcher and Mrs Sophie Densham were in attendance.
Prince Henry of Wales, Patron, Sentebale, this afternoon played in the Sentebale Polo Cup and this evening attended a Gala Dinner near Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa.
The Princess Royal, Patron, the Mary Peters Trust, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Fortieth Anniversary Dinner at City Hall, Donegall Square South, Belfast, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Mrs. Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle).
The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this afternoon attended the Davis Cup Final between Belgium and Great Britain at Flanders Expo, Maaltekouter 1, Ghent, Belgium.
Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this evening attended a Dinner given by the Royal Belgian Tennis Federation at Volta, Nieuwe Wandeling, Ghent.
