COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Her Majesty held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP (Secretary of State for Transport) and the Rt Hon David Mundell MP (Secretary of State for Scotland).

The Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Rt Hon Stephen Crabb MP kissed hands upon appointment as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and received the Seals of Office.

The Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP kissed hands upon appointment as Secretary of State for Wales and received the Seals of Office.

Mrs Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by The Duke of York at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of Admiral Sir Jeremy Black (formerly Vice-Admiral of the United Kingdom) which was held in Winchester Cathedral, Hampshire, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal was represented by Captain Nicholas Wright RN.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning visited Gauda Secondary School, Nepal.

His Royal Highness afterwards laid a wreath at British Gurkhas Pokhara Camp.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, today carried out engagements to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited British Gas Academy, 195 Ayleston Road, Leicester, and was received by Colonel Murray Colville (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire).

The Earl of Wessex later visited Leicestershire Police Headquarters, St. Johns, Enderby, Leicester.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner at Boughton House, Geddington, Kettering, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire (Mr. David Laing).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Remus Memorial Horse Sanctuary, this morning held a Meeting.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Lattitude Global Volunteering, this morning visited Mary Hare School, Snelsmore Common, Newbury, to mark its Seventieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire, (Mr James Puxley).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Riders for Health, this afternoon received Mrs Andrea Coleman upon relinquishing her appointment as Chief Executive

Mr Barry Coleman (Founder) and Mr Christopher Reed (Board Trustee) were present.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Learning and Work Institute, later attended the Driving Change Conference and Roundtable Discussions at Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, London N7, and was received by Dr Charles Goodson-Wickes (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Motor Neurone Disease Association, this evening attended a Reception at the Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Princess Royal, President, Carers Trust, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later attended a Dinner at Claridge’s, Brook Street, London W1.
