COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Captain General, Royal Regiment of Artillery, today reviewed the Regiment at Knighton Down, Larkhill, on the occasion of their Tercentenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mrs. Peter Troughton), the Master Gunner St James’s Park (General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman) and the Regimental Colonel (Colonel Richard Collinge).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute before inspecting an Armoured Parade from the State Review Range Rover.

Afterwards The Queen viewed the Captain General’s Baton and addressed the Parade before viewing a Ride and Drive Past, led by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

Her Majesty subsequently witnessed a Feu de Joie.

The Queen this afternoon viewed the working of a Divisional Headquarters Command Post and stands exhibiting the heritage of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, including the Royal Artillery Museum.

Afterwards Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon by the Master Gunner St. James’s Park.

The Queen later visited the Royal Garrison Church and was received by the Mayor of Tidworth (Mr. Christopher Franklin) before unveiling the Foundation Stone of the Tercentenary Chapel and Cloister.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this morning received Major General Martin Smith upon relinquishing his appointment as Commandant General and Brigadier Robert Magowan upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, later received Lieutenant General Sir Christopher Deverell upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Major General Patrick Sanders upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Leicestershire and Derbyshire Yeomanry Old Comrades Association, afterwards received Colonel Robert Boyle (Honorary Colonel, E, Leicestershire and Derbyshire Yeomanry, Squadron, Royal Yeomanry).

His Royal Highness, Captain General, Royal Marines, this evening took the salute at Beat Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, London SW1.

The Prince of Wales this morning received Mr. Steven Holliday (Outgoing Chief Executive of National Grid Group).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning visited HMS DUNCAN, West India Dock, London E14, to mark the Centenary of the Battle of Jutland.

The Duke of York, accompanied by Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York, this afternoon attended the “Not Forgotten” Association Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Band of The Queen’s Division played selections of music during the afternoon.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Trustees, this evening held a Dinner at St. James’s Palace for supporters of the Outward Bound Trust.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, accompanied by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana (His Excellency Mr. Jonathan Benjamin), this morning visited the Ceremonial Palace of the Paramount Chief, Jamestown, Ghana, and was received by the Paramount Chief of Ngleshi Alata (Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V).

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later visited the British International School, East Legon, Accra.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon broke ground in a ceremony at Ghana Award House, Accra.

His Royal Highness this evening departed Kotoka International Airport, Accra, for the United Kingdom.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Brendoncare Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Dyslexia Action, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, President, Animal Health Trust, this morning chaired the Industry Committee Meeting and Council of Management Annual General Meeting at Lanwades Park, Kentford, Newmarket, and was received by Mr. Nicholas Wingfield Digby (Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the Suffolk Advice Centre, 1 Milton Road South, Stowmarket, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (Clare, Countess of Euston).

The Princess Royal, Appeal Patron, Woolf Institute, this evening attended a Dinner at Mansion House, London EC4.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon arrived at Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, this evening attended a Dinner at the Hong Kong Country Club, 188 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong.

St. James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President of the Council, King Edward VII’s Hospital (Sister Agnes), today received Mr. Robin Broadhurst (Chairman).

His Royal Highness, Liveryman, this evening attended the Honourable Company of Air Pilots Livery Dinner at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton Street, London EC2.
