Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills, and were received at the Visitor Centre by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim (Mrs. Joan Christie), the Rt. Hon. Theresa Villiers MP (Secretary of State for Northern Ireland), Mrs. Arlene Foster MLA (First Minister of Northern Ireland) and the Chairman of the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty (Dr. Robert Brown).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Chairman, and His Royal Highness, escorted by Ms. Heather McLachlan (Director), viewed a short film about Finn MacCool and the Giant’s Causeway and met members of staff, guides, volunteers and local food and craft suppliers.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove to the Causeway Stones and viewed the Causeway.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards visited Bushmills Village and were received by the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council (Alderman Maura Hickey) and the Parade Commander (Mr. Gardiner Kane).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended an Act of Remembrance and Her Majesty unveiled a Statue in memory of Sergeant Robert Quigg VC.

His Royal Highness unveiled a Commemorative Stone plaque in memory of Sergeant Robert Quigg VC.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon attended a Reception given by the Mayor at Royal Portrush Gold Club, Dunluce Road, Portrush, County Antrim, and were received by the President of Royal Portrush Golf Club (Mr. Hugh Clarke) and Councillor James McCorkell (Deputy Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Luncheon.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh later arrived at Coleraine Railway Station and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Londonderry (Mr. Denis Desmond), the Chairman of Translink Group (Mr. Frank Hewitt) and the President of Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (the Lord O’ Neill).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness boarded a steam train and travelled along the North Antrim coast to Bellarena Railway Station.

The Queen opened the new Station Platforms.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning attended a Military Mental Health Round Table Meeting at Cassini House, 57 St. James’s Street, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Sentebale, this evening attended a Concert in Kensington Palace Gardens, London W8.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York today carried out engagements in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

His Royal Highness, Founder, Pitch@Palace, this morning held Pitch@Palace Malaysia for entrepreneurs and potential supporters.

The Duke of York, Founder, Pitch@Palace, later attended a Pitch@Palace Malaysia Lunch given by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes (Group Chief Executive Officer, Air Asia) at the Mandarian Oriental Hotel.

His Royal Highness, Grand President, this afternoon attended the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League Conference at the Grand Millennium Hotel.

The Duke of York, Grand President, this evening attended the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League Conference Closing Reception at the Residence.

His Royal Highness later attended a Dinner with The Sultan of Perak given by the British High Commissioner to Malaysia (Her Excellency Mrs. Victoria Treadell) at the Residence.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, the University of Bath, this afternoon presided at Degree Congregations at the Abbey, Bath and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mrs. Anne Maw).

His Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Bath, later attended a Reception in Bath.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, the University of Bath, this evening attended the Chancellor’s Dinner in celebration of the Summer Graduations and the University’s Fiftieth Anniversary, the Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada and later arrived at St. John’s International Airport, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Her Royal Highness was subsequently received at Government House by the Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador (the Hon. Frank Fagan).

The Princess Royal later visited Cape Spear Lighthouse, Blackhead Road, Blackhead, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Captain Nicholas Wright RN is in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Cromford Creative (Building 17), Cromford Mills, Mill Lane, Cromford, Matlock, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr. William Tucker).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the newly restored Darley Abbey Mills, Darley Abbey, Derbyshire.

The Duke of Gloucester later visited Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited, Burnaston.

His Royal Highness afterwards opened Marble Hall, Nightingale Road, Derby.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this morning attended the inaugural British Tennis Awards and Lunch and afterwards attended the Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, London SW19.

St. James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission this morning received Air Chief Marshal Sir Joseph French upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice-Chairman.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Opera North, this evening attended a performance of “Das Rheingold” at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1.

Buckingham Palace

Princess Alexandra, Patron, Alexandra Rose Charity, this afternoon visited Maytree Nursery and Children’s Centre, 155 Clarence Crescent, London SW4, and later visited the Rose Voucher Scheme at Brixton Market, Electric Avenue, London SW9.
