COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of York, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, was received this morning in the Grand Reception Room at Windsor Castle by the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel, Grenadier Guards (Major General Roland Walker), Major Grant Baker (Regimental Adjutant) and the President, Grenadier Guards Association (Colonel Richard Aubrey-Fletcher) to mark the appointment of The Duke of York as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received in St George’s Hall with a Royal Salute and The Duke of York inspected the Parade.

The Queen and The Duke of York afterwards attended a Reception in the Grand Reception Room.

The Queen received the Bishop of London (the Right Reverend Sarah Mullally) this afternoon who did homage upon her appointment.

The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance and administered the Oath.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall today carried out the following engagements in Cornwall and was received by Mr Peter Davies (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Institution of Cornwall, this morning visited the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited Truro Cathedral and the Old Cathedral School, Truro.

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Newquay and announced the name of the Nansledan development’s first school.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Fair Close Centre, Newtown Road, Newbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge and The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron, SportsAid, this morning attended a wheelchair basketball tournament and Commonwealth Reception at the Copper Box, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20, and were received by Mr John Barber (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Their Royal Highnesses later visited St Luke’s Community Centre, 90 Central Street, London EC1, to take part in the final preparations for their Commonwealth Big Lunch and were received by Dr Charles Goodson-Wickes (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning visited St Marylebone School, 64 Marylebone High Street, London W1, and was received by Dr David Dangoor (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon visited Lord’s Cricket Ground, St John’s Wood Road, London NW8, as part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Real Tennis Tour and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening attended a Dinner at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Foundation of Light, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business Committee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, afterwards chaired a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the National Autistic Society, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Maritime UK, this morning received Mr David Dingle (Chairman).

Her Royal Highness, President, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference, afterwards attended a Board Meeting at the Brunswick Group LLP, 16 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London WC2.

The Princess Royal, Patron, International Students House, this afternoon opened the Bar and Coffee Shop, “the Thirsty Scholar”, and visited their renovated facilities at 229 Great Portland Street, London W1, and was received by Professor David Phoenix (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The King’s Royal Hussars, later received Colonel James Porter at Buckingham Palace upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Angus Tilney upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Warden, Gordonstoun School, this evening attended a Reception at Standard Life Aberdeen PLC, St Mary Axe, London EC3.
